СС2564

Dear TI support team!

I intent to create radio microphone (10 000 pcs per year)

Your СС2564  suit for this because has I2S

But:

1. I can’t find any information about compression time. I need very fast compression time – not more then 3 ms

2. I can’t find any information about audio decompression block  - are it really exist in СС2564 ? If yes, which time of decompression ?

I have ADC  28 kHz 24 bit with I2S out.

3. What real range of  throughput for air data transfer. If I refuse compression because long compression time not satisfy me , does I will manage to sent  useful data with 1,2 Mbps (48 kHz*24) speed ?

    Not sure I understood the question - The internal codec can handle the I2S – all the data for the protocol is part of the DS.

    For our devices important time which need to spend that transfer data from radio microphone to  USB-port from radio USB-dongle , which connected to our main device (professional karaoke)

    This is time consist from:

    T1 – it is time which compression block to spend for audio data (from I2S) compression.

    T2- it is time which need  radio protocol to send radio data . This is time depend from  channel capacity (speed), and features of the protocol.

    T3- time for data receive from other radio side.

    T4- decompression time. Is time which decompression block to spend for audio data decompression.

    All devices which we looked before do no suit us because time Tcom=T1+T2+T3+T4 too long for us. Some our customers hear this delay.

    We look two directions

    1. Devices with short time compression/decompression (not more then 5 ms for both side)

     2. Devices without compression but with fast  radio data transmission. We have manage to spend useful data with 1.2 MBit/s. It is mean? we think,   radio channel capacity has to be not less then 5 MBit/s due to protocol features.

    May be СС2564  can resolve our task  or you can suggest suitable for us solution ?
