Hello,

I'm working with the CC2564 chip. We're about to start testing, and I'm finding it difficult to access example code and documentation for BLE FCC testing.

The information hereseems to be missing a link to the example code. Additionally, since this will be accomplished through init scripts, I've found that hcitool's formatting does not match the documentation. To write 0xFD77, hcitool must be given 0x3F 0x0177. Is there documentation that I am missing for these translations?

Additionally the documentation on the BLE frequency hoping tests seems to be incomplete. Could I be directed to complete FCC testing code and/or a translation document between TI HCI commands and hcitool expectations?

Those are both helpful, but I'm still not clear on the exact test cases required. Is there a C file or linux shell script which executes FCC BLE testing I could look at?

For example, there are instructions on simulating BLE frequency hopping, but no command. I don't understand the procedure for hop simulation and the documentation at processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC256x_FCC_Certification_Guide lists Channel 59 as valid, but the documentation you linked claims 39 is the maximum channel for BLE.

Is there a list of modes/requirements for FCC and the HCI commands required? Thanks!

Hi,

You could download the FCC test report for CC2564 using the FCC ID provided in the wiki to learn about all the tests performed for FCC certification. All tests can be performed by programming the device using HCI tester or APIs in BT stack. The HCI commands needed to program the device are listed in the wiki document provided by Joseph. BLE has 2MHZ wide channels and hence only 40 channels (0-39). The device is programmed to channel 37 (2402MHz), channel 17 (2440MHz) and channel 39(2480MHz) for FCC testing.
