Cannot find "TI_CC2540 usb cdc serial port" in Device manager

tutorial: How to Create a Custom Bluetooth Smart Embedded Application with the CC2650DK

I follow the instruction of the tutorial above and download app & stack in cc2650 EB. But I cannot find the "TI_CC2540 usb cdc serial port" in my Device manager.

I first download CC2640_SmartRF_HostTestRelease_All.hex and the download app & stack. If I download app & stack first, "CC2640_SmartRF_HostTestRelease_All.hex" will failed to be download.

If there is anything wrong with the usb driver? I found somebody solve this issue by install driver, but there is no that kind direction in my computer.

How to solve this problem?

Do you plug your CC2540 USB dongle to PC? When you do this, Windows would do driver installation automatically.

Do I must need CC2540 USB dongle to use BTOOL?
What's the function of that hex file " CC2640_SmartRF_HostTestRelease_All.hex "?
Also, I am trying to communicate cc2650 with BTOOL, why the tutorial gives us all screenshot with cc2540 or cc2640?

I don't have cc2540 usb dongle, where can I find the driver and install manually?

If you don't have CC2540 USB dongle, why do you install driver for it?

I am not sure but I suppose my computer cannot identify the cc2650 EB because it doesn't have proper driver. BTW, the link you share is for sensortag, if it also works for EB?

Do you mean you use CC2650DK? If you use CC2650DK and connect it to PC with ISB cable, it should install driver automatically.

Yes, cc2650 develope kit. I program with cc2650 evaluation board. I can use up and down key to change the value of sunlight ( like in the tutorial) but I cannot find cdc_usb in my device manager- port. So I cannot use BTOOL to see characteris change

Yes, it is cc2650 develope kit. I program cc2650 evaluation board and can change the sunlight value by press up or down button. But I cannot find usb_cdc in device manager->port. So that I cannot use BTOOL to see the characteristic change. Do you know how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance!

You can install SmartRF Studio (www.ti.com/.../smartrftm-studio) and connect CC2650DK with USB cable. Then, you Windows should be able to find driver in SmartRF Studio.
