Hi,

I have a question about the device be scanner or master role.

At first, scanner should scan the MAC address of advertisers on the ADV channels.

Then, initiator can connect with all advertisers by CONN_REQ alternately.

If master want to scan other devices, it will disconnect from slaves which is connecting or not.

It means that devices can be master, scanner, and initiator, right?

Hello Peter,
The general state flow for a single role is described in the BT4.2 core spec in chapter 1.1 LINK LAYER STATES.
However a Maste can both connect to multiple slaves and still scan for more devices without terminating the active connections if you utilize the multi role implementation (refer to link below).

Will the master hop to data channel to exchange empty packet with slave if a master are scanning on the ADV channel?

Hello Peter,
Yes, the Master will keep the connection alive while scanning in between the connection events.

Hello Eirik,

Whether the master hop to the same adv. channel after it hops to data channel to maintains connection with slave?

Hello Peter,
After the connection event it will jump to the next scan channel. If you restart (stop and start) the scan from the host it will start again at channel 37.
