Mapping SPI pins for SmartRF06 accelerometer in Sensor Controller Studio

Hello,

I am trying to use SmartRF06 on-board accelerometer via SPI from Sensor Controller Studio and cannot figure out how to map MISO, MOSI and SCLK pins. According to SmartRF06 Evaluation Board User’s Guide (SWRU321A) those signals are mapped to RF1.20, RF1.18 and RF1.16 connector pins respectively.

According to SimpleLink CC2650 EVM Kit 7ID (CC2650EM-7ID) v1.2.6 Design Files those lines correspond to CC2650 controller's pins DIO_8, DIO_9, DIO_10, but they are not available in the SCS I/O Mapping tab.

How can I configure SCS for using these SPI pins? Or what is the valid configuration for using SmartRF06 accelerometer?

Hello Glib,

The sensor controller can only interface to a certain set of IO’s. For the 7x7 package this is the range DIO0-DIO7 and DIO23-DIO30. (refer to Table 11-2. CC26xx and CC13xx Chameleon Family Pin Mapping in the TRM). If you still want to use the sensor controller simply rewire the connections on the 06EB headers (refer to P407 for the SPI signals).

So I am not mistaken, and SCS cannot use those pins. I was thinking, that I'm missing something...
