CC2541 scanning using phones having BT 4.2

I don't think this is related to CC2541 BLE 4.2 compability. It's more possible that the problem is on Smart phone. I would suggest you to find another phone to test scan agat.

What app do you use to scan CC2541 on those smart phones?

Yes, we do need to know which app you are using. Also, a packet air sniffer trace (not HCI log), would be helpful.

I have made an app of my own but I have retained the scanning algorithm implemented in the sensortag app. I am able to scan the BT device using the generic BT scanner of the mobile phones which means that my device is functioning smoothly. It is something in the app I guess.

If you use SensorTag App, are you able to scan CC2541?

I tried it with the Sensor Tag App on the Nexus 5X and it could not scan the device.

What BLE example do you run on CC2541?

My apologies first for not testing the Sensor tag application correctly. It takes some time to list all the devices and when I re-tested it, I was able see my device in the list. To me, it implies that there is some issue with my scanning procedure. But, I am not able to understand this behavior. My app works perfectly fine with BT4.0 and BT 4.1. Why is it that it stops working with BT4.2.

Now, I want to have a look at the source code of the SimpleLink Sensor tag application. I am talking to my local TI support for this.
