Bluetooth 4.2 support for cc2564B

Hi to all,

more than one year ago requested when LE 4.2 support will be added to the dual mode BT stack, the reply indicated that the 4.1 stack was still in progress and then, afters 4.1 completion, 4.2 will be added.

Have anyone got updates on this?

Do LE 4.2 require hardware changes or CC2564B will run 4.2 stack?

I've read that 4.2 has improvements in both RF parts and Security parts of the standard.

Probably 4.2 RF enhancements will require new hardware, but do security enhancements run on CC2564B hardware too?

Hi Cloudio,

The LE 4.2 features will be supported in the stack release along with the CC2564B's successor.

More details will be available at the time of release.

Hi Vihang,

does this mean that new stack release will be available for CC2564B too or only for it's successor?

if this new stack release will be available for CC2564B too, is support for TIVA C processor included?

if this new stack release will NOT be available for CC2564B, will old stack be maintained (i.e. bugfixes) or will remain as is?

More details regarding the cross-compatibility will be available publicly once the new stack and IC are released. In the meantime, I see that we have an email channel open with you. We can talk about your HW/SW setup and other considerations through there.
