Hi all,

I reproduced the tida-00374 board (with just little changes) but when I try to program the CC2650 4x4 package installed there through smartrf06 and flash programme 2, the chip i think is not recognized: even it results "connected", the package size detected is 5x5 and the flash size results 0k. So the flash programming fails (as well as flash reading). I checked the debug interface (cjtag or jtag) hardware connections and everything seems to be fine

Can you help me?

Can Tida - 00374 board be purchased?

It sounds like you have a HW issue. What debugging have you done?

Hi Fredrik,

thanks for your reply; i used XDS110 (through CC2650 lp) and XDS100v3 through SMARTRF06. Same error in both situations.

This is the part of my schematic related to the chip programming. I check everything. I've changed also from cjtag to jtag but nothing...

thanks for your reply;

I have verified all the items suggested in the wiki article, everything seems to be fine except for the device current drawn, after power up i've measured approx 2,5-3 mA, in the document it's reported 6-7 mA as the correct value. I have measured the current drawn in the CC2650 LP (the chip is 7x7 package) and it's app 5-6 mA.

The other voltage values are more or less identical.

I can do the forced mass erase with flash programmer 2 but i can't read the flash memory, like i said before. Instead i can read the info page and I have noticed that the Primary ZIGBEE MAC ADDRESS and Primary BLE MAC ADDRESS are FFs... guess something is wrong of course.

Dont know what to do now...

it's a little bit different compare to tida0374, but the programming interface should be the same

Hi Vito,

I asked for the layout, not the schematic.

It is probably not related to this problem, but you should not have load caps on the 24 MHz crystal. The oscillator has internal caps.

Hi Vito,

It looks like you do not have vias in the ground pad? Is that the case? If it is, your grounding is very poor and could be the potential root cause of your problem.

The layout of the DCDC components is also poor, and I would recommend having more ground vias around the RF components with ground connections. You should not use thermal reliefs on the vias.

I recommend that you go through the PCB design collateral found on the BLE wiki:

Hi Vito,

The TI Wiki is temporarily down for maintenance. It should come up soon and the 2nd link will then work.

In the meantime, you can try soldering a thick wire on the board, connecting all the separate ground planes together and connect it to the ground pin of the JTAG header.
