Hello All,

This may sound very silly, but I would like to know if I understood correctly or not. Please help me.

In BLE1.4.x stack, ECG reference design, I found ECG service defined. Its service UUID is 0x2D0D. I unable to find this in bluetooth services specifications.

Is it a custom profile?

Can I customize heartrate profile with some additional characteristics needed by my application? Are there any rules to follow ?

Hi,

Are you referring to the heart rate example in the BLE 1.4.2 stack?

This example used service UUID of:

#define HEARTRATE_SERV_UUID             0x180D  // Heart Rate

This UUID is according to the adopted service.

Hi Tom,

I am referring BLE stack provided for ECG reference design by TI. Below are the services given in stack. Where are these UUIDs taken from?

#define ECG_SERV_UUID 0x2D0D
#define ECG_MEAS_UUID 0x2D37
#define ECG_NUM_CHANS_UUID 0x2D38
#define ECG_SAMPLE_SETS_UUID 0x2D39
#define ECG_COMMAND_UUID 0x2D3A

Hi Lakshmikanth,

You're referring to TIDA-00096, right?

It appears it was done as for example/illustrative purposes - I'll contact the team who put that TI design together to verify.
