BT Sig info on BlueZ stack

My question was concerning Bluetooth stacks and qualification. We are using Bluez 5.39 and I was curious what information you might be able to provide from your wireless group. We are using it on both the AM335x and DM8xxxx platforms coupled with the Panasonic PAN1326B module which utilizes the TI CC2564B chipset. Any information you could provide or a point of contact would be greatly appreciated.

Specifically related to Bluetooth SIG, I wasn’t sure if TI had a QDID which we could reference in our listing or if we needed to do a qual on the stack and profiles.

Thanks!  Blake

  • We have done only stack qualification to TI’s, which is Bluetopia. We don’t have any QDID for any other stack.

  • Hi Tomer,

We had a conference call today with the customer and he understood our position.

He did have some general questions about certification.  His module is BT certified.  So he thinks he just has to have the Stack (BlueZ) and Profile Certified.  He thinks he can do this with Profile Tuning Suite, along with Bluetooth Dev Studio and a 99$ Radio Module usb dongle, then pay the Sig 8K$.

Does this sound like he is on the right track?  Any hidden problems with his certification flow you see?

    Best Regards, Blake
