Log data on windows

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650STK, CC2650

Hi everyone,

Is it really not possible to log data from the sensortag cc2650stk in an easy way?

The problem is, that the application on smartphone always crashs after a few hours. Due to this, the data is lost after the crash.

Why isn't there a "log" function in the BLE Device Monitor? And isn't it possible to read the "Event log" in the BLE Device Monitor?

I would be very thankful for every answer!

Regards,

Roman

  • There is no log function in BLE device monitor or Btool. I suggest you to refer to and revise one of those examples to serve your purpose.

  • Hi Roman,

Depends on how you define easy - the point of the sensortag example is to show how to take sensor information and send it to a central device easily.

In other words, it's the central device's job to really 'log' or deal with the data how it wants. So it's up to you how you implement how to log the data.

Some suggestions: you could use another CC2650 as a central device, connect to the sensor tag and send the data via UART to a PC. Parhaps write a python script or some sort of UART logger to capture the data.

You could also have the sensortag continually advertise a sensor value. (IE insert it into the Advertisement Data Payload) and use another CC2650 to read it whenever you want to collect a sample.

Again, it's up to you how you want to do it,
