Hi,

We want to develop a BLE application for TI CC256x chipset.

Are we able to use Bluetopia sample code as starting point?

Hi Paul,

Yes, the sample applications included in every release of Bluetopia/BluetopiaPM can be an excellent starting point for commercial development. You can find the complete list of sample applications on the SDK documentation and pick the one closest to your profile/service requirement.

Can you point me to a document which details the terms of TI Commercial license under which they are released?

Or can you outline the terms?

Hi Paul,

When you install the Bluetooth stack SDK for a specific platform (MSP432, MSP430, Sitara etc.), the installer will have the license document in it. You can find all the CC256x Bluetooth stack download links on the following pages.
www.ti.com/.../tibluetoothstack-sdk
www.ti.com/.../toolssoftware

Hi,

When I search the TI SDK for BT the only file I find which mentions licensing is:

BluetoothProductionSoftwareforWiLin_manifest.html

This file provides a manifest for the licensing of each element of the bundle.

It uses the term TI Commercial, however it does not define what this means.

Can you either provide mean with a definition, or a link to the definition of this term.

If there is a file in the SDK that I've missed, that provides the defintion, please give me the

name and relative location of the file.

Hi Paul,

The license doc is part of the installer (i.e. exe file) and presented when installing the SDK. Only after the user checks the "Agree" button, the rest of the installation proceedes. It is not a separate file in the installation directory.

Hi,

I can now see the license file.

However to pass this to our legal department I need a file. I cant copy it from the installer as this is not possible.

Can I reference it online or can you send me a copy?

Paul,

I am sending you a connect request on e2e account. Please let me know the release version being used (Linux, MSP432, MSP430 etc.) on the PM along with the company name.

I will investigate internally on what is the protocol regarding providing separate license file for that release.
