CC2564MODN: Regarding BT module for Bluetooth Headset

Part Number: CC2564MODN

Hi,

Greetings of the day!!

We do have 24-bit DSP Audio Mixer unit.Audio mixer unit that provides HIFI quality intercom between several users., with external BlueTooth connectors. Each user will carry a headset, which can be connected to these connectors. At the same time the user must be able to connect a mobile phone, which they can switch to, if it rings. Or if no audio mixer available, but another similar headset user, they must be able to pair the 2 headsets, and still have each mobile phone connected. In this case one must be HFP agent, and the other must be HFP-AG agent. "

So as per knowledge we just need below functionality

1)Create a feature using the long range BT module with simultaneous SPP(Mobile phone connectivity) and HSP connections.

2)Set up a simultaneous A2DP and SPP connections from smartphones to a BT module(Which need to be select)
One smart phone should establish the A2DP connection for streaming stereo audio to the BT module and in addition to establish an SPP connection for a low bit-rate data transmission to the BT module UART.

3)Our requirements could be with 10-16dBm BT module. This requires class 1 type BT which have maximum gain of 20dBm or 100mW.

4)About 10-16 dbm BT module.. What we require is a range of 300 - 500 meters Line Of Sight between two headsets... We can add a 1-2 dbm antenna. So we can work on power ( dbm ) sensivity, sampling etc. to get the desired range.

I would like to request you to provide me support for suitable BT module with Stack availability for simultaneous connections..

Thanks

The TI Dual mode Bluetooth stack working with the CC2564MODN will be able to have SPP and HSP simultaneously.

A2DP and SPP simultaneously will be fine too.

The CC2564MODN has maximum output power of +10dBm. Please refer to the module datasheet for details on all the specifications.

The CC2564MODN has max output power of +10dBm and sensitivity of -93dBm typical sensitivity. It can typically achieve up to 100m.

  • Dear Vihang,

    Thanks for your soonest feedback!!!

I would like to thank you for confirming the stack support and all my 4 queries and great technical support!!!

But for our end application, we require is a range of 300 - 500 meters Line Of Sight between two headsets, can we add a 1-2 dBm antenna. I'm thinking we can achieve range by working on power ( dbm ) sensitivity, sampling etc. to get the desired range.

Looking forward for your positive response!!

    Thanks and best regards

  • Hi Dinesh,

The Range is not only function of output power and sensitivity. The modulation type and symbol rate play an important role as well. For BT spec signals (BR/EDR/LE), you can realistically achieve up to 100 meters. Moreover, the CC256x devices (including the CC2564B that the CC2564MODN is based on) are known for best in class RF performance to obtain this kind of range.

But, expecting 300 to 500 meter range from any BT radio might be a bit too ambitious.

    Best regards,
    Vihang
