CC2540: Is it possible for a BLE Central device to operate in 'standby' mode when connected?

Part Number: CC2540

Hello,

There is much information about the low (~1uA) current consumption of CC2540 based devices when performing the Peripheral role, but little said correspondingly for the Central role.   On searching the Ti E2E database I did come across a reference to this issue in which the definition POWER_SAVING is made, which presumably forces standby mode.   However, I am unsure where exactly this should be defined.   I have tried defining it in main() of the SimpleBLEPeripheral project, but to no avail - the current drain between RF bursts is a steady 0.5mA, indicating 'idle' rather than 'standby' mode.

Can anyone please advise?

Best regards,

Caleb.
