CC2564MODA: What is the difference between dual mode and single mode bluetooth ?

Part Number: CC2564MODA
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2541, CC2640, CC2650MODA, , CC2650

Hello Everyone,

I need to add bluetooth to my embedded hardware, initially I was planning to use the CC2541, so I read a bit more and decided to change to CC2640. But the only thing that was bothering me was the antenna. I would need to build the PCB antenna, I saw some references, but it would be much better not to build the antenna on PCB. So, I thought about using the chip instead, but I'm not sure if it will be better, I'm afraid I will not have the chip antenna in the future and I will need to redesign my hardware because of that.

So, I found the CC2650MODA, and it seems to be exactly what I was looking for, it has an integrated antenna and seems to work like CC2640. But, I saw the CC2564MODA, and it says to be dual mode. What is the difference between CC2650MODA and CC2564MODA? The CC2564MODA seems not have a microcontroller core, so, if it is the case, does it mean that it has not the BLE STACK implemented?

Sorry if my question is a bit incomplete or with a wrong interpretation, I just started study about it a few days ago.

With my bests regards,

Daniel.
