I have your CC2541 (BLE) chip in HM-10 module,

i need to change the advertising channel that the chip is working on (37/38/39),

how can i change the channel ?

do i need to program the chip (CC2541) to other program (and programmer)?

According to their datasheet, it does not look like it's possible to only advertise on selected channels.

You can of course use a cc-debugger and then make the debug connection yourself. Then you will be able to program this with different FW.

i sew that in the HM-10 datasheet it's not possible,
can you tell me which FW will be good for my purpose ?

You can try to run SimpleBLEPeripheral example on HM-10 and revise "#define GAP_ADVCHAN_ALL (GAP_ADVCHAN_37 | GAP_ADVCHAN_38 | GAP_ADVCHAN_39)" to "#define GAP_ADVCHAN_ALL (GAP_ADVCHAN_37)" which would only advertise on channel 37.

can you be more specific, now the module is connect to FTDI and i communicate with it via terminal and AT commands,
How can i do your advice ?

As Christian mentioned, the default FW doesn't support this single channel thing. My approach is to modify SimpleBLEPreipheral example source code to do it.

i downloaded the "SimpleBLEPreipheral" from processors.wiki.ti.com/.../File:SimpleBLEPeripheral_UART.zip,
in the zip file i have ".ewd" files, as far as i know i need a ".BIN" file to program the CC2541 , am i right ?

You need a hex file to download it to CC2541 using Flash Programmer.

a#define in the file i change the" #define GAP_ADVCHAN_ALL (GAP_ADVCHAN_37 | GAP_ADVCHAN_38 | GAP_ADVCHAN_39" to "#define GAP_ADVCHAN_ALL (GAP_ADVCHAN_37)",
i don't find it in the code?

You have to build BLE example using IAR EW8051. The GAP_ADVCHAN_ALL is defined in gap.h.

i just ordered the CC debugger, in the mean time can you send the full example of the "SimpleBLEPreipheral" ,
Because the files i downloaded not include the gap.h file , (you can see in the link i shared in earlier message ) .

You have to install BLE Stack 1.4.x to get gap.h.

I want to import the project to IAR however IAR requires eww file (project file)

I am currently experiencing 3 problems:

1. the CC Debugger tool is not recognized by Flash Programmer 2 although driver installed correctly (Device manager -> Cable controlled devices -> CC Debugger)

2. ble stack install pause at : "unpacking documents"

3. in case step 2 succeeded and only documents are missing, whwre it's being installed , how can I import it to IAR ?

--> You need to use Flash Programmer for CC25xx series. Flash Programmer 2 is for CC26xx/CC13xx series.

--> You can find the project in C:\Texas Instruments\BLE-CC254x-1.4.2.2
It comes with documentation(software developer's guide) which includes how to open the project in IAR.

I have managed to activate the CC Debugger and compile the BLE Peripheral example using IAR for CC2541F256

but when I am trying to flash I get the following warning:

"CC2541 - ID0957: HEX file content at address 0x1B163 exceeds chip's 16 kB flash size"

any ideas ?

I have overcome the previous issue.

no I have the fooliwing problem, I can read flash into hex file, read ieee, but when I try to flash software I get:

now flash is successful

when I read IEEE I get : F4 5E AB 17 E7 5F

now I would like to test the software

after restarting device I should see a Bluetooth device via scan in address F4 5E AB 17 E7 5F ?

I have flashed the device successfully (erase, flash and verify)

but I can not see the BLE

If you are testing SimpleBLEPeripheral example in BLE Stack 1.4.2, make sure you set initial_advertising_enable = TRUE.

You said it worked before. Which example did work on your HM10? By the way, do you use TI Packet Sniffer to check if your HM10 does advertising?

1. I have used a prepared hex file, I do not have the source , but this does Varify that the hardware is OK

2. on old software (the pre-prepared hex file) I can use packet sniffer, on the new software I can not use it

would be be possible to conduct a "teamviewer" meeting so I can show you the problem ?
