Building and downloading custom FW

Dear support,

I have a TI SimpleLink SensorTag Development Kit and its DevPack.

Using the CCS (Code Composer Studio), I have built 3 .hex files: application, stack and bim_extflash.

Using the Flash Programmer 2 I have tried to download these .hex files many times. Every time the download process is successful but a red LED appears steady on the Sensortag.

P.S - downloading cc2650stk_sensortag_rel.hex, taken from sdk 2_02 library, is successful and the sensortag works perfectly.

1. Can you advise what I am doing wrong here?

2. How can I know if my custom FW is branched from the latest FW that you (TI) supply (1.32, 1.51 etc')?

Do you use TI ARM compiler v5.2.6?

I'm using the default CCS configuration. I believe the compiler is TI v5.2.0.

The default settings use TI v16.12.0.STS which would have problem. Make sure you use v5.2.6 like the following screen shot.

Hi,

This is my configuration. It seems I use the same compiler version you suggested.
Still, when downloading the sensortag doesn't react - no LEDs at all or Red LED on.

By the way - do I need to download only app or stack as well?

Do I need to create a merged hex file or can I download both seperately?

You have to download both app and stack to your CC2650STK and don't forget download BIM too. You don't have to merge the hex files.

Well, I don't have IAR and there is no BIM project for CCS , so I don't have BIM hex file.
Is it possible you can share one? or is there somewhere I can download from?

BIM is at BIM_(for CCS): $SDK_INSTALL_PATH$\Projects\ble\util\BIM_extflash

If you use BLE Stack v2.2.1, it's under C:\ti\simplelink\ble_sdk_2_02_01_18\examples\util

Yes, I saw it. I thought you mean bim and not bim_extflash.
I have used it already and still nothing.

I think there is something wrong with your TI compiler. I suggest you to follow steps in e2e.ti.com/.../1958452 to install TI compile v5.2.6 to test again.
