CC2541: CC2541 Power consumption Calculation

Can you show us how do you measure the power? Also can you make sure the device is advertising?

    I dumped SimpleBLEperipheral code as mentioned in note by disabling Periodic timer and i am getting this type of wave form without any connection.Its taking more preprocessing time and more no of Rx-Tx waveform.What should i do??

Are you having external component running periodically without starting BLE? The current measurement shown in the application note did not have external component in the circuit.

If you have the external components(ex : sensors), make sure you power down your sensor so it does not draw extra current.

             I am strictly following cc2541 power consumption application note and i am getting same measurement readings as shown in note.But my custom board battery is going to finish in 4 days only if it is advertising continuously.

But in application note its shown like min 400 days but i dont think so it will come.

What should i make changes in Simple Ble pheripheral code to make less use of battery?

from  my custom board i removed accelerometer sensor also.

The application note said when it's in connection and with 1 second connection interval then the battery will last for more than 1 yr.

Are you sure that your device is in connection?

My device is in connection,I am using simple BLE Pheripheral application.I want to change my advertising interval from 100ms to 1 sec where i need to made changes in code and what value need to set??
I am getting bit confused regarding difference between Max/min connection interval and advertising interval.
Can you give me some clarity on this??

I think you can benefit a lot from reading our software developer's guide for BLE fundamental(chapter 1 to 5). You can find the different states for BLE device (standby(idle), advertising, scanning, initiating, connected).

After that, if you still have problem, I can guide you on how to change the connection/advertising interval in our software.

There is one doubt, I am using my device in advertising mode only (General mode setup) there no connection, and i am sending my data through advertisement packets only and advertisement interval is set to 1 sec.
In another case if my device is in connected state and all other parameters are same.
Which case will consume less power , advertising only or connected??

It's difficult to compare. You should take a look at the following application note even though it's for CC26xx, but the concept for BLE operation is the same.

Once you add POWER_SAVING into predefined symbol, then the power saving will be enabled and BLE stack will take care of the whole thing.

Where should i add this symbol ?? In Which file all BLE stack symbols are defined??

You can find the detail of how to add a predefine symbol in IAR in our software developer's guide section 8.2.2

   I defined in my iar POWER_SAVING symbol. As it is given in software developer guide when POWER_SAVING symbol is defined mcu will go in sleep state(PM2 mode) when no pending task are there.

Is there any way to confirm this?

You can disable advertising and then measure current consumption. Then the device should stay in sleep at all time.

How this part of code is working? Is this TPS62730 is by default works  or we needed to make any changes to code to make it work??

As asked in last post regarding measuring sleep current I disable advertising by defining variable

uint8 initial_advertising_enable = FALSE;

And checking sleep current it is showing like 0.090 A and both boards Texas Keyfob and my custom board which is quite high.

Can you suggest something?

Have you done the needed HW and SW modification for the keyfob before you do current consumption measurement? (www.ti.com/.../swra347a.pdf )
When you are using keyfob as starting point, you need to make sure all the peripheral is not introducing leakage current.

Can you try the previous steps first before doing more?
