The sensor controller are the same in both devices. Any BLE or Sensor Controller training made for CC2650 will also run on CC2640. Read more details in this FAQ:

Q: What is the difference between CC2650 & CC2640? How do I move from CC2650 to CC2640 or different package sizes?
