CC2650: Two simultaneous A2DP connection possible?

Greetings,

With the CC2650B, which has EDR, is it possible to have two simultaneous connections with A2DP? Specifically, one as a slave (A2DP sink) and one as a master (A2DP master)? The audio should be forwarded from the sink as the source, if that's any concern.

Hi,

You are correct that the audio would be tunneled from sink to the source for such an application. Are you planning to use unassisted A2DP or the assisted A2DP (A3DP)?

Also, which host platform / operating system are you using?

Either unassisted or assisted A2DP. We're quite early in our design phase and are looking at the options. So undecided on the host platform / operating system too. Can CC2650 handle the two simultaneous connections as asked? Regards, Prithvi

Hi,

When Using assisted mode (A3DP), only one mode will work : SNK or SRC. So the simultaneous SNK and SRC tunneling is not possible.

This is theoretically possible with unassisted mode where the host processor is encoding/decoding the audio data. Having said that, the A2DP SNK is supported in the couple of MCU versions of the ti Dual-mode Bluetooth Stack and for Linux. The A2DP SRC is only supported in Linux. <- reason why operating system matters.

Thanks a lot Vihang! That explains. One more relarted query - can the CC2650 act as an A2DP source for two sinks simultaneously? If yes, with which mode and which operating system?
