CCS/CC2640: On chip OAD using CCS7

Is on-chip OAD for the CC2640 an option with CCS7? Or is IAR still the only recommended option?

Hi Dorian,

Currently On-Chip OAD is only supported by IAR for CC2650 not for CCS. On-Chip OAD in CCS is supported on CCSv7 for CC2640R2F.

You could attempt to implement it yourself by referencing the CC2640R2F example, if this is a route you wish to go down.

Otherwise, yes, IAR is the recommended option for On-Chip for CC2650

Is there an example of OAD for the CC2640R2F? I am only finding the OTA Download Users Guide version 2.2.

Yes - you'll have to download the SDK : http://www.ti.com/ble-stack

You'll find the configuration when attempting to import the simple_peripheral project with CCS v7.
It's called simple_peripheral_cc2640r2lp_app_oad_onchip (separate projectspec file)

The user's guide is integrated with the stack documentation, also accessible here : software-dl.ti.com/.../oad.html
