I have a CC2650 that I am trying to set up as a BLE, but I am having some issues. At the moment I am using the simple peripheral CC2650em app and stack, and manage to edit it to some extent but I can not figure out how to activate the BLE by button and not all the time active to conserve battery life.I also want to add the battery level to the Advertisement packet and change the UUID to my own custom UUID so I can use it in my iPhone app in background mode, but I was unsuccessful so can you help me with these steps and also a little code snipped would be great if available.

In BLE-Stack 2.2.1 there is a Simple Peripheral project for the CC2650STK. You can download it for free from here: www.ti.com/.../ble-stack

Hey Marie

I tried the CC2650STK, but when I flash the device the light turns red and the device stop working. But when I flash it with the CC2650em it works fine, so is there something I am missing with the CC2650stk that cause it to sop working.

What revision of thew CC2650STK do you have?

When you say the CC2650 project for EM works fine, does it mean you can see the device advertising?

I am using ble_sdk_2_02_01_18 for the CC2650STK and EM, and yes I can see the device advertising and get the advertisement on my iPhone. The main issues I am having is that it is active all the time, but I want it to advertise by the press of a button, and also I want to change the UUID to my own personal UUID and not the manufacturer.

Hi Dwayne,

What hardware revision are you using?

In order to turn advertising on and off you can use GAPRole_SetParameter(GAPROLE_ADVERT_ENABLED, sizeof(uint8_t), FALSE);.

The UUIDs can be changes directly in the profile file (e.g. simple_gatt_profile.c and .h). You can also use Bluetooth Developer Studio to generate new profiles, see software-dl.ti.com/.../ble_01_bds.html .
