CC2564 PairMode can't change from SecureSimplePairingMode to PairableMode

HI:

    TI’s Dual-mode Bluetooth stack on STM32F407,

I changed PairMode to "pmPairableMode_EnableSecureSimplePairing", but  can't change to "pmPairableMode" back ,the pair mode is awalys the SSP.

 How to change "pmPairableMode" back?

  • Hi,

I will look into this issue. To get me started replicating this behavior, can you share the following?

    - Which version of the TI Dual-mode Bluetooth stack on STM32F4 are you using? (i.e. 4.0.2.2 or 4.2.1.0)
    - Which Sample Application are you using? (i.e. SPPLEDemo, SPPDemo etc.)
    - What are the exact commands are you using to change the pairablity?

    Best regards,
    Vihang
  • HI,

        Think you for your reply!

                I'm using the 4.0.2.2 of  theTI Dual-mode Bluetooth stack on STM32F4 .

The project is SPPLEDEMO, the commend is "SETPAIRABILITYMODE",

there're three pairmodes ,if  I set  the mode from "pmPairableMode" to "pmPairableMode_EnableSecureSimplePairing",

I can't  set  to  "pmPairableMode" back  use  that commend , the mode is awalys  SSP.

Can you help me with this problem?

  • Hi,

Once the secure simple pairing is enabled, it cannot be turned off from the application by changing the pairabilitymode to pmPairableMode (non SSP).

This action is intentionally blocked in the GAP profile of the TI Bluetooth Stack to comply with the Bluetooth spec requirements. The GAP_Set_Pairability_Mode() API will return BTPS_ERROR_ACTION_NOT_ALLOWED (-99) error code when trying to turn off Secure Simple Pairing.

Why would you need to turn off SSP after enabling it in the first place?

    Best regards,
