CCS/CC2640R2F: Problem with DEVICE_FAMILY_PREFIX definition

Part Number: CC2640R2F
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSBIOS

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I am trying to create my own project using the CC2640R2F. But are having problems with device family defining.

The build cannot different libraries that are addressed like this:

#ifdef DEVICE_FAMILY
#define DEVICE_FAMILY_PREFIX(x) <ti/devices/DEVICE_FAMILY/x>
#else
#define DEVICE_FAMILY_PREFIX(x) <x>
#endif

#include DEVICE_FAMILY_PREFIX(driverlib/aon_rtc.h)
#include DEVICE_FAMILY_PREFIX(driverlib/aon_event.h)
#include DEVICE_FAMILY_PREFIX(driverlib/interrupt.h)

Which results in
"C:/ti/bios_6_50_00_10/packages/ti/sysbios/family/arm/cc26xx/Timer.c", line 52: fatal error: cannot open source file "driverlib/aon_rtc.h"

I have defined the device family in the ARM Compiler and Linker like this:

But still get the same error after Clean and build what am I doing wrong?
Am I missing  I seems like the DEVICE_FAMILY_PREFIX(something) does not give the correct path.
When I click on the paths in the editor, CCS opens the correct file.
What am I missing?

  • Hi Viggo,

    For new development, we recommend starting with an existing sample application and modifying it to suit your use case. That way, you don't have to worry about configuration issues or not including a necessary file. The simple_ projects are a good starting place. For exampel, if you wish to create a peripheral device, start with simple_peripheral.
  • Hi,

    Thank you for your answer.

    What you suggest was my first try, but I am running into this problem in that case:
    e2e.ti.com/.../515495
    And I can not find a solution for this, so I was hoping to be able to make a fresh project for this instead. So I am hoping that someone maybe are running into the same problems as me and maybe have some ideas to solve this. :-)
  • Hi Viggo,

    Can you elaborate more on the issue you were having with the example project not building? What example project did you start with and from which version of the SDK? Did you make any modifications to the project or did you have problems building it before making any changes?

  • Hi,

    Just to close this, I did a fresh install with the newest CCS 7.1. as well as the newest CC2640R2F SDK 1.30.00.25. This made me able to compile the example projects.

    Thank you for your time.
