CC2650: Programming custom PCB that uses CC2650

Part Number: CC2650
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2640R2F, CC2640

Hi,

How do I program a custom PCB that uses the CC2650?

I wish to design a custom PCB that uses CC2650 for my school project (a smart table mat that can detect the presence of a plate using a light sensor and communicates to an RPI using Bluetooth Low Energy)

However, I am not sure how to get started with loading a boot-loader onto the PCB and actually programming the PCB once it comes out of the fab.

I have purchased a SimpleLink Bluetooth low energy/Multi-standard Sensor Tag and have found tutorials that use the CC-DEVPACK-DEBUG to program the Sensor Tag but I am not sure how to go about programming a custom PCB.

Any help is much appreciated,

Thank you and regards,

Mark

  • Hello Mark,

I would start by reviewing the pinned "CC2640R2F/CC2640/CC2650 Getting Started and FAQ" post at the top of this BLE forum. It has info on programming the device. There is also a bootloader app note on the TI BLE Wiki which can be referenced if you are not using JTAG to program the device.

    Best wishes
  • You can try to refer to connection between XDS110 and CC2650 in LAUNCHXL-CC2650 schematic.
