RTOS/LAUNCHXL-CC2650: BEGINNER: Is pinShutdown_CC2650_LAUNCHXL_TI working as intended?

So I imported the pinShutdown_CC2650_LAUNCHXL_TI project to my CCS work space and ran in on my dev board. The example is meant to show the board going into shutdown and coming out of shutdown. However I'm not seeing the device go out of shutdown. The way it's meant to work is when I press BTN_2 on the board the LED shuts off and the board goes to shutdown. When I press BTN_1 the device is meant to wakeup and blink the LED to indicate that it's waking up. BTN_2 shuts the board down but BTN_1 doesn't wake it back up. I'm very new to this board and development in general and could use some help figuring out why this example would behave this way.

Hi Peter,

"It is not possible to do a proper shutdown sequence with the debugger connected. For correct behavior, this example must be run with the debugger disconnected by resetting or performing a power-cycle of the device."

Hi Marie,

In response to this I tried running the same example with the debugger disconnected (which to my understanding meant disconnecting the jumpers that connect the USB side of the dev board except for 5v 3v3 and GND) but I'm still seeing the same behavior where the board just doesn't want to wake up.

Hi Peter,

In order to disconnect the debugger safely, please press the red square (stop button). (You don't have to remove the jumpers.)

Marie,

I've tried this and it doesn't work. Is there any other way the program could be messing up? do I have to edit the Power Policy in the board files as suggested in this post? e2e.ti.com/.../482419

Hi Peter,

The project works for me without any changes, however I've been testing in CCS Cloud.
1) Follow the link you posted dev.ti.com/.../
2) import to CCS Cloud
3) Press Debug
4) Press stop
5) The project works.

Since this is not the case for you, I'm suspicious that something may have gone wrong in the downloading process. Could you install BLE Stack 2.2.1 ( www.ti.com/.../ble-stack ) and retry?
