LAUNCHXL-CC2650: Simple_peripheral example doesn't work

Hi Moniaga,

After you built the projects did you flash them onto the device? (Stack and then app?)

You should be able to see the device from ble scanner at that point.

I recommend going through the getting started section of the guide software-dl.ti.com/.../get-started.html

The link is for R2F but similar material can be found in the 2.2.1 SDG.

Which compiler version in CCS do you use? You have to use TI ARM compiler v5.2.6.

Personally, I don't use CCS 7.1. I use CCS 7 and CCS 6.12. I don't know if this matters but I suggest you to try it on CCS 7.0 which you can download from processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Download_CCS

Are those errors generated by CCS7 + TI ARM Compiler v5.2.6?

with ccs7.1 and ti arm compiler 5.2.6

Could you try it on CCS7.0 with TI ARM Compiler v5.2.6?

I deleted a file at the root of the TOOL folder and the errors now are disappeared but the device still not to be recognized by BLE scanner and no signal from Putty

yes! with ccsv7.0

I tried also to uninstall and then reinstall everything but nothing has changed. Can you help me?

yes, I do.

I changed also the ARM compiler to v.5.2.6 for CC2650

Do you try to use TI SimpleLink Starter App on your Smartphone to scan your LAUNCHXL-CC2650?

yes, I do and it doesn't find the device. I tested also Project Zero and it works, SimpleBle peripheral not.

no I mean that I build and downloaded Project Zero with ccsv7.0 and TI ARM compiler v16.9 and the device works. Instead using SimpleBLEPeripheral with ccsv7.0 and TI ARM compiler v.5.2.6 the device is not working

Hi Moniaga,

Ideally the linker command file should be automatically included once. Because it's included twice, I believe your setup is slightly messed up. This may have been when you imported the projects from a different CCS version, and CCS attempted to fix the settings to make everything work.

You can try removing the reference to the linker command file in the properties of the project, just so it's only included once and see if that works. (right click on project > properties > CCS General > Main Tab > Advanced Settings and clear out the linker command file field.

If that fails, I recommend starting fresh. Look at the release notes of the version of the SDK you're using (in the root directory of the SDK) and grab the components it requires.

Any of the simple_* examples - but ideally all the examples out of the box should work. If none of the examples work, it's definitely a set up issue.

By fresh I meant, uninstall CCS, the SDK, TI RTOS, XDC tools, etc that came with the SDK. Reinstall the SDK. You may want to consider using another computer just to verify it is indeed the set up.
