CC2640: Inter Frame Space

Part Number: CC2640

Hi,

I have few question regarding inter frame space.

1.  I am little bit confused between, advertising interval and Inter frame space? Can anyone please tell me difference between two.?

2.  I read somewhere Inter frame space default value is 150us, Can we reconfigure it? If yes, how to reconfigure it through software?

3. We have put multiple devices together, and we are getting interference in the advertisement of the devices. After a certain range we are not getting proper advertising of the devices. So changing the inter frame space will help in this?

  • 1. According to the spec, the Inter Frame Space is the consecutive packets on the same channel index, while the advertising interval is the interval between each advertising event(which can have up to 3 channels (channel 37, 38, 39) per advertising event )
Regarding how advertising works, you can take a look at this application note.

    2. You can't change the inter frame space. You need to follow the spec.

    3. You can try to use different advertising interval, and if after certain range, you are not detecting your advertising packets, you can increase your TX power.
