R&S Bluetooth tester and CC2640 PCB connected with a coaxial cable
When reading the RSSI value using the Read RSSI command, I am not able to see a difference in RSSI value from -21 dbm to 5 dbm, I have gotten a constant RSSI value of -27.
When I have changed the signal strength to -30 dbm using an R&S Bluetooth tester, I get an RSSI value of -32, and when the signal strength is -60 dbm I get an RSSI value of -62 dbm, which seems pretty reasonable.
In the CC2640 Data sheet, it states that the RSSI dynamic range is 70, but I do not know how to interpret this.
I am aware that RSSI will be in the range of -127dbm to 20dbm, and 127dbm when there is an error, but when using CC2640 and RSSI, what is the available RSSI range?
