CCS/CC2650MODA: The UART's output suddenly becomes weak

Hi everyone,

I develope the project by using CC2650MODA module. For troubleshootting I try to use the UART output. for this reason I select the two pins for UART RX and TX. According to manual there is no difference in pin selection so I select any empty pins. In this case the pins were DIO_14 for TX and DIO_13 for RX. In the beginning I the UART worked perfectly. The terminal showed everything I needed. but after a period of time the output disapeare. When I tried to connect the scope I saw thet the maximal signal level is ≈600mV instead of ≈3V. I tried to configure the other pair of the pins DIO_8 for TX and DIO9 for RX. but it didn't help me at all.

What it maybe the reason? Is it important which pins must be selected for the UART?

(The project whith which I tested the module is the ZeroProject.)

Hi Boris,

You can pick any available IOs you want for UART. What are the modification you did to the project? Are you using XDS110 or other debugger for developing your project?

The modifications were only in pin selection (I am talking about ZeroProject): I moved the LEDs buttons and the UART to the other pins, the pins of the other ports as I2C, SPI I unassigned (gave them the value DIO_Unassigned). I have also unassigned the two unnecessary pins of the UART by reminding only the two Rx and Tx pins. Any other modifications weren't made.

Yes, I am using the XDS110 debugger.

Can you take your picture of your setup? We have not heard this problem before so it puzzles us. I was able to use UART logging for at least a week( for testing).

When the UART logging disappeared on your setup, was the device still functioning?
