CC2650: Advertising continuously without Advertising interval

Part Number: CC2650

Hi.

Our requirement is to set advertising interval below 10ms or without interval it will always be advertising.

The advertising packet should be transmitted every 5 ms.

By using high duty cycle Directed Advertising with advertising interval lower than 20ms, the SPP_BLE_Server does not advertise.

we follwed this (https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless_connectivity/bluetooth_low_energy/f/538/t/514294)

Since we like to finish both the advertising of server and the discovery of  advertising packet in client within 10 ms to conserve power.

the scan_duration likely to be 10 ms

Please suggest a solution for this.

thanks,

Santhananarayanan

  • When using high duty cycle advertising, the interval can't be higher than 3.75ms according to the spec.
"4.4.2.4.2 High Duty Cycle Directed Advertising
In high duty cycle directed advertising mode, the time between the start of two
consecutive ADV_DIRECT_IND PDUs sent on the same advertising channel
index shall be less than or equal to 3.75 ms."

In our BLE stack, the advertising interval is set to 3.75ms when you choose HDC advertising.

Advertising_Interval_Min and Advertising_Interval_Max parameters are not used.

Can you try to route PA signal to an IO and check the result from logic analyzer to see if it's advertising? The HDC advertising will end in 1.28 seconds.
