Hi , customer is measuring a jitter at different baudrate (from 115k to 3Mbps).

in the specification, there is statement "baud rate accuracy per bit :12.5%"

- does this mean that the bit width is discrete by 12.5% per bit ? can you explain the statement ?

- could it be the cause of the jitter seen

Hi Nicolas,

There is some good information on baud rate that you can find here:

Basically you are correct. At the higher rate, the window is reduced by 12.5% Basically if you are clocking at the center (say 50% mark), then the range will be reduced by 12.5% due to the jitter.

We would also expect the jitter to get worse ant the higher rates, that is why we see the range up to 12.5% in the datasheet.
