CC2640: Porting code from CC2640 to CC2640R2F

Hello TI,

I am using cc2640 but facing the memory limitation problem. If i move to CC2640R2F (provides more memory). Would it be possible to port my developed code from cc2640 to CC2640R2F?

As CC2640R2F uses Bluetooth 5.0 (instead 4.2) is it still compatible with cc2640 code ?

How much changes i have introduce while porting from cc2640 to CC2640R2F?

Yes for sure you can import your code from CC2640 to CC2640R2F, all what you need to do is to use the board.h file for CC2640R2F instead of CC2640 board.h!

and regarding Bluetooth 5, the CC2640R2 supports Bluetooth 5 architecture but the software stack for Bluetooth 5 is still not available now and will be available in the next future updates,

so for now, the CC2640R2 runs BLE 4.2 software stack.

Hi Mabbas,

There is some porting involved when moving your SW project from CC2640 to CC2640R2F. There is a comprehensive guide in the Software Developer's Guide for the CC2640R2F BLE Stack: software-dl.ti.com/.../index.html
