CC2564: OUI not unique

Hi,

customer of a module supplier need to trace their modules by identifying MAC addresses.

By checking several CC256x, they miss a unique header (Organizationally Unique Identifier) of MAC address, like A0E6F8xxxxxx.

Here some test from production since dec 2016.. not all started with A0E6F8xxxx:

Can you give any explanation or hint ?

Are these addresses read from firmware, soon after booting? It is possible for applications to set to a different BD address at runtime. Anyways, i asked HW expert to look at this query and will get back shortly.

Yes these addresses are read out from the chip after booting.

Hi,

Both OUI (A0E6F8 and CC78AB) are allocated to Texas Instruments. So it makes sense. The OUI are unique, but every organization does not only have 1 single OUI. You can refer to the following link for list of all OUI and Texas Instruments has more than 100.
