RTOS/CC2650: Two I2C on CC2650

Hi,

In sensortag board file I see two I2C ports, 0 and 1.

I was wondering if both of them are real hardware I2C?

I'm just asking because in CC2650 darasheet it doesn't say two I2C ports.

If it has two can I use both of them at the same time in sensor controller? And the performance of both ports are the same?

I have two sensors with same I2C address and instead if changing the address of one of them to use one port I want to have separate ports.

Hi Asad,

There is only one I2C peripheral in the CC2650, however, the I2C signals can be multiplexed to different IO pins. This is leveraged in the SensorTag by time interleaving communication on the 2 I2C buses.

Hi,

Then should I do some modifications to use both( in my codes or simply duplicate initiation with different pins and names? Can I connect two sensors with the same address to cc2650 ports ( one to each I2C)?

You can try to refer to CC2650 SensorTag example which uses two I2C connections.
