CC2650: Bluetooth stack/RTOS questions

My customer is currently evaluating the CC2650 for their next project and based on documentation it appears that the TI’s Bluetooth 5.0 stack cannot be separated from TI RTOS. In other words, if they have to use TI’s Bluetooth stack as a library and use their own custom RTOS, would this be possible?

Also, is there any data on TI RTOS in terms of latency, memory footprint and other specifications?

As I know, it's not possible. You have to use TI BLE Stack and TI RTOS .

Hi Brian Antheunisse,

I tried it. It is very difficult because TI BLE stack is developed based on TI-RTOS. If we want to replace TI-RTOS, we almost have to rewrite the ble stack :(.

If we have to add wireless functionality to an existing application, do we have to redesign everything using TI RTOS? Only other option is to use external MCU and use TI's bluetooth chip as a pure radio.

Does this mean we are locked down with TI RTOS for single chip solutions?

Yes. We have no other solution.
I made many BLE chips of other companies such as Nordic, NXP, STM. I think BLE stack of TI is good for applications that require much customization in BLE.

I hope that TI guys can modify the BLE stack so that the underlying TI-RTOS can be replaced by other RTOS. In fact, this should be simple to modify.
