CCS/LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2: Simple Peripheral OAD onchip iOS app "No GUI" issue when trying to use "Sensor View"

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I have my CC2640R2 loaded with all of the correct OAD FW (BIM + OAD stack + OAD app + Simple Peripheral OAD on chip examples from SDK), and when trying to connect to the programmed device using the SimpleLink Starter app, I get a "No GUI" notification that says "No GUI implemented for this broadcaster, use the "Show Advertisement Data" option on the menu to show data".

Has anyone had this issue? Im not sure if maybe its an app metadata issue - but uninstalling/reinstalling the app or turning BT on and off on the iOS device doesnt solve the issue. Thanks

  • After reprogramming with the non-OAD simple peripheral example (stack + app) images, the app was able to discover it and look at the sensor view.

Then, programming the OAD simple peripheral example and re-running (adv data was the same as before), the app was able to go to sensor view with the OAD app.

It seems like this was an app cache issue.
  • Yes, seems to be the case. I always try to use the handy BTool to confirm my suspicions when an app cache issue is suspected.

    Best wishes
