LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2: a few simple questions for establing a LIN-Communication via UART

Hi,

I am studying mechanical engineering in germany and for my master thesis i want to establish a LIN-Master Node which serves the Bus Informations via Bluetooth.

My researching lead me to the CC2640 Launchpad for developing the software.

I have to say that my experience in programming is really poor and things like TI-RTOS and scheduling are completely new to me.

What is the best way to getting started with my project? In my past, i have only a little bit experience with Arduino...

After performing some tutorials with CCS 7 and examples my confusion is greater than before.

Hi Maximilian ,

do not worry, absolutely everyone feels like you the first time.
I would recommend you to just insist and everyday you will understand one more thing.

I've already found something like this (uartecho example). Why is in this example

UART_write()

used and not

System_printf()

I have found out, that for creating the LIN-Bus Frame Header i have to send a <13 Bit Low-Signal. This can be done with setting a register. In CCS7 it is really easy to do this, but how can a set this in my Code?

Hello Maximilian,

I would not recommend attempting to implement something such as a LIN-Bus driver if you are just getting started with embedded programming concepts. I would suggest starting with SimpleLink Academy and the related TI-RTOS labs. You can find details on how to access SimpleLink Academy on the TI BLE Wiki.

I'm getting already in touch with simpleLink. I thought, these examples are also in CCS7?

After two days extensive research things are much clearer to me.

Is the HWREG() Macro a common way for setting register values?
