Hi experts,

I am developing a board using CC2650MODA and since the DIOs available are not enough for my project  I was thinking to remove the flash MX25R8035FZUIL0. But for what I understood, the external memory is necessary to store the new image during over the air upgrade. Am I wrong? I absolutely need the Over the Air upgrade, so I am wondering if there is another way around to avoid the use of the external flash but still implement Over the Air upgrade. Is that possible?

    Hi Francesco,

    On the CC2650 it is difficult to implement OAD without external flash. Refer to the OAD User's Guide for details. Keep in mind that the SPI bus can be shared by several peripherals.

    An alternative is to go to a chip-down design or an alternative module vendor with the 7x7 package.
