CC2650MODA: CC2650MODA timeout on services

Part Number: CC2650MODA
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BLE-STACK

Hi experts,

I got many CC2650moda REV1.0 working with custom stack/app and Ti examples.
On all of the modules, I can get the GAP device name and access Services on TI app.
Nevertheless, one of them, (LTC:1634EAB) advertises its device name but give a timeout when trying to access Services.
Power supply is stable (3V), reset doesn't drop (100k-100n)  and I disconnected all peripherals connected on it. The sensorcontroller part is running but the BT part seems to be not fully functionnal.

Any clue ? I'm using CCS but not a debug master.

If you could describe me the steps you think will help me...

Thanks !

Ben

  • Hi Ben,

My understanding of your issue is that you have multiple CC2650MODAs all running the same custom firmware. One is not connectable.

Are you using the TI CC2650MODA boosterpack or your own custom board? If you try to load SimpleBLEPeripheral without modifications onto the device are you able to connect? Which TI BLE-Stack are you using?
  • Hi Rachel,

I use either boosterpack or custom board.
The CC2650MODA that doesn't work was mounted on a custom board which is exactly a copy of TI design.
This failed module was removed, another one was mounted on the board and it is working successfully.

Loading TI examples as SimpleBLEPeripheral give me same results with the module on the board or "wired".

    I'm using 2_02_01_18 / BLE SDK v2.2

Could this issue be related to internal power / hardware issue  ? I noticed power reception level is less than 10dB compared to others working modules.

    Thanks,

    Ben
