Starterware/CC2650: CC2650

Part Number: CC2650
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2540

Tool/software: Starterware

Dear Support:

Can you tell me what are the current hardware platforms (LPs, BPs, SensorTags, etc) that will allow me to run voice-based demos with the latest BLE SDK?

Thanks,
Tim

  • Hi Tim,

At the moment, the all publicly released voice platforms are on the CC2640R1/CC2650 - the Launchpad and the Remote Control. The audio receiver is only available on the CC2640R1/CC2650 as well. These will be getting updated in the future.

If you want to discuss older examples, that may not be getting updated: There is a CC2540 dongle that can also be used to exercise voice and HID. There is also a sensor_tag audio example for a voice platform.

    Hope this helps,

    Rebel

  • Hey Rebel:

Thanks for your quick response - when you refer to the CC2650, the only hardware I know is the SensorTag and the RemoteControl.  Is that the case and if not, what other boards are available?   I don't know of any BLE LPs that support voice, correct?  Was hoping with high speed BLE5 we would have voice and audio coming soon - I hope so.

    Thanks,
    Tim

  • Hi Tim,

Yes, you're right - it's just the sensortag and remote control on the CC2650. To my knowledge there's no other boards available.

Again, you're right, to my knowledge there aren't any BLE LPs that support voice at the moment.

I'd say it's definitely in the pipeline; not sure when it'll be completed/released though, unfortunately.

    Regards,
    Rebel
