CC2640R2F: How to detect advertising using Smart RF Studio?

Hi,

We are trying to detect the advertising packets of simple peripheral example program using Smart RF Studio. We try channels 37, 38, and 39 and there is no advertising detected. How do we detect advertisement using Smart RF Studio?

Did you configure your Packet RX according to the following:

Make sure to select the RF reference layout that matches your board and use a BLE ADV Chan 37 - 39. Note the Access Addr matches the predefined value for ADV channels.

Hi JXS,

We set the Smart RF Studio to Continuous RX last week. We will try Packet RX and see if we are able to detect advertisement.

Thanks, I was able to see the same results at Smart RF Studio Packet RX.

When I tried to demo this at work, It does not work. I always get "Buffer Overflow". Our work area has about 30 bluetooth device running at that time. I do not know if that affected Smart RF Studio Packet RX.

I try again at home, and indeed I see Packet RX. What is weird is if I remove the power of my CC2640R2 Launchpad, there is still incoming packets at Smart RF Studio.
