Question - BLE iBeacon?

Is it possible to activate LED or turn on any port of the CC2640R2 Lunchpad when smat phone with BLE get in proximity and turn off

if not in proximity?

Any suggestion how to do this?

Do you intend to do iBeacon scan on CC2640R2? If so, I think you can use simple_observer to do it.

I am thinking to pair phone with BLE CC264R2F Lunchpad and use iBeakon. One application would be: I put Lunchpad board inside of my Door-Lock which has actuator. This actuator would be automatically triggered by BLE ibeacon when detects my phone in proximity?

Would you be able to suggest me some example software to start with?

I think you should do this in reverse way which is to make iPhone sends iBeacon and your LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2 as iBeacon scanner for this.

I agree, the Iphone should be sending ibeacon. Do you have any code sample what I can re-use as start for this potential application?

Another question for CCS: I see extern PIN_Status PIN_init(const PIN_Config aPinCfg[]); and int_fast16_t Power_init(void);

but I can not find definition of the functions. Are those functions visible or it is part of library files?

You can refer to beekn.net/.../ which shows you how to turn iOS device as iBeacon transmitter. For those functions, they are in TI RTOS.
