RTOS/CC2541: Can I deploy a CC2541 as central, and embedded Linux Device as peripheral

Part Number: CC2541

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

HI, all

I have a customer designed ARM-Linux dev-board without a screen(no GUI), running bluez5.30. Thus, I have to make the CC2541(the remote controller) as central. I need the CC2541 to connect the dev-board automatically. How can I do that? Any suggestions? Thank you!

  • Hi,

I don't fully understand which device is which role in your setup. You can use bluez + a BLE or dual-mode Controller to communicate with a CC2541. The CC2541 can be a peripheral or central based on the firmware you load on the wireless MCU. Please note that CC2541 is not able to function as a standalone BLE Controller as the TI Host and Controller are integrated in the on chip memory. This means you can't directly connect the CC2541 over HCI to the bluez BT Host.

    Best wishes

    EDIT: Updated with role details.
