Hi,

Can CC2540 support Bluetooth 4.2??

"The TI BLE Stack™ v1.4.1 supports Bluetooth 4.0. For Bluetooth 4.1 support, see the TI BLE Stack for the SimpleLink™ Bluetooth low energy CC2640 Wireless MCU."

I got this from CC2540 and CC2541 Bluetooth® low energy Software Developer’s Reference Guide

It says it doesnot support. So is there any plan for TI in future to provide 4.2 support for CC2540??

As I know, TI doesn't have plan to support 4.2 for CC254x. You can refer to the discussions in e2e.ti.com/.../1370855

Hi Pavithra R,

- CC2540 only support BLE 4.0. You can see them in www.ti.com/.../ble-stack
- CC2640 & CC2640R2 support BLE 4.2.

CC254x is backwards compatible with peer devices supporting Bluetooth 4.2, however, there are no plans to add Bluetooth 4.2 features to CC254x. If you need Bluetooth 4.2/5 support, we recommend CC2640R2F.
