RTOS/CC2650: Generate a 4 MHz clock

Hello,

I own a cc2650 MCU and I’m interested in outputting a 4 MHz clock from one of the GPIO pins. My question is, is there any way to generate this 4 MHz output without having to use the GPTimer? And if I do have to use the GPTimer, is it possible to be in standby mode while running the GPTimer?

Hi Maksim,

You have to use the GPTimer for this. You also have to be in active mode as the 24 MHz crystal oscillator must be running.

I am using the sensor controller to sample the AFE4404.

In the AFE4404 datasheet TI recommends one clock in the system, this means an external 4 MHz clock must be supplied to the AFE4404.

How can I use the CC2640 to supply such a clock while still getting the benefits of using the sensor controller?
