CC2540: CC2541 hex file -- will it run as-is on a CC2540?

Hi,

I programmed a CC2540-based board with the CC2541 HeartRate reference design hex file. This hex file runs fine, of course, on one of the 2541 reference design boards we built. Can I expect it to run without modifications on a CC2540 board? For the sake of simplicity, assume the CC2541 reference board is only different because it has a CC2540 in place of the 2541.

If you don't use I2C HW on CC2541. It should work without problem.

If you use the radio, the CC2541 hex file will not work on CC2540. There are internal differences in the radio meaning that different radio libraries must be used for CC2540 and CC2541.

Thank you for your answer. I have been reading CC2540 documentation and would have found out about the radio differences, but this saved me a lot of trial and error. Thanks again.
