CC2640: DevPack Issue

Part Number: CC2640

Hello,

Good day! I'm a newbie here and pls. apologize if i do had wrong posting preference.

My problem was, we are working with our customer fixture with DevPack CC2640.

This fixture was intended to program the board with CC2640F128RHBR.

It is working fine on almost 150units but suddenly we experienced intermittent communication thru COM Port.

And then the DevPack Board IC TM4C129 seems getting hotter than the usual, which a typical sign there's something wrong in the DevPack Board.

Can you help me assess if the DevPack board is now defective or it is somehow can still be repaired?

  • Hi Mark,

Is this a quite old DevPack Debug? A few years back there were a batch that had a HW issue which could cause overheating. I would recommend that you return the board to wherever you purchased it as defective.

Also note that the DevPack Debug is not really designed to work as a standalone debugger. The LaunchPads however are, so I suggest using those instead.

    Cheers,
    Fredrik
  • Hello Fredrik,

Thank you for your response, if it seems to be inherent to the board itself then we will ask the customer to check this with the TI supplier.

As per my checking the devBoard datecode falls around 2016.
