CC2640: multi-role example connection dropped

Part Number: CC2640

Hi all,

I'm using a CC2640r2dk_5xd connected to the XDS1100 debugger of a 2650LaunchPad. I loaded the multi-role example on the CC2640 changing the predefined symbol from CC2640R2fLP to CC2640r2DK_5XD. No building error and I can see the menu from the uart monitor. The problem is that I can see the device advertising, but when I tried to connect to the device with a smartphone, the connection dropped immediately. This happened also trying to connect to a spp_server2650lp. The connection dropped immediately, both when the device is server or client.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Moniaga

  • Hi Moniaga,

This sounds like an issue with your 32 kHz clock accuracy. Have you checked the crystal frequency on your board?

    Cheers,

  • Hi,

unfortunately, we do not have an external 32Khz oscillator on our customer's board. The corresponding pins X32K_Q2 AND X32K_Q1 have been left unconnected.

Is there a way to properly configure the internal oscillator in order to supply for the missing external one?

We have seen in the forum that a file called hal_config.h should be modified, but we don't have such file in our simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_1_35_00_33 folder... Can you please tell me where to locate it?

And, is there anything else that we'd better check?

    Thanks for your support,

    best regards

  • Hi Moniaga,

    Follow the instructions here: www.ti.com/.../swra499

Note that we do not support running without 32k crystal for Central operation.

    Cheers,
    Fredrik
