cc2640r2f: Using RFX2401 PA for CC2640R2F

Dear TI experts,

We would like to use CC2640R2+RFX2401 PA for a BBQ temperature logger product. Could CC2640R2 support RFX2401? I understand that we can use CC2592 as range extender, however, our product is cost sensitive so we would like to leverage RFX2401 instead. Thanks,

RFX2401 should work fine with the CC2640R2F.

Hi Fredrik,

Thank very much for your comments. We have basically completed schematic design for CC2640R2+RFX2401. But we are not sure which GPIO pins on CC2640R2 we should use for controller RFX2401. Is there any constraints on the GPIO pins assignment? Could we simply choose any I/O pins available on CC2640R2?

Apart from the hardware perspective, we think that software on controlling RFX2401 is still necessary in order to make the system works? Is there any instructions on how to modify existing code so that current SDK supports RFX2401 in addition to CC2590?
